The Red Zone is a great channel for all fantasy and compulsive gamblers. This channel is provided by Direct TV and Time Warner.

The Red Zone is a channel presented by the NFL Network that shows when a team has reached the 20 yard line.

The Red Zone cuts from a games when there are timeouts being called or any stop in the action this channel is great.

The Red Zone starts at 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with no commercials or interruptions just a live feed to any game that will or has scored most recently.

This channel provides great information for fantasy players showing each player that has scored and updating on the bottom the top fantasy players for the day.

This channel also provides great information for gamblers in general knowing up to date scores.

In my opinion this channel the Red Zone is great and creates entertainment and up to date scoring for the average fan.

The NFL posts lines on every game played during the week.

Knowing the spread can tell you what to look for in a certain game.

When gambling you are always depending on somebody either a player, coach, or Vegas.

Knowing the spread tells you how many points a team will win or lose by.

For example Tonight on Monday Football the Dallas Cowboys are 6 point favorites over the Chicago Bears . Even Though the Bears are at home.

This is what is known as a trap game.

Betting on Dallas is the smart play on the money line. But Dallas being Dallas are known for chocking and loosing in December. The Cowboys have made the Playoffs once in the last fifth teen years. This team is unreliable and in my opinion I would stay away from this game.

On Thanksgiving every year there are football games played one in the morning, afternoon, and night.

The morning game this Thanksgiving is the Detroit Lions vs. the Green Bay Packers.

Detroit is favored by -6 points and they are at home. What a nice start to Thanksgiving a game set-up on a tee nice and early.

Detroit is going to cover big. Because Matthew Stafford is the second best quarterback in the league in  passing behind Peyton Manning. Another reason Detroit will win big is because Green Bay has no quarterback at all Aaron Rodgers is out. Matt Flynn? I don't think so.

The afternoon game this Thanksgiving is the Dallas Cowboy vs. the Oakland Raiders.

Dallas is favored by -9.5 points and they are at home. Wow 9.5 points is a lot but Oakland is terrible on the road. But I don't think Dallas is going to cover. I do think they are going to win but not by 10 points.

Because when its a big time game and Tony the "choke" Romo is out there he gets smoked like a Turkey.

The night game this Thanksgiving is the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Baltimore is favored by -3 points and they are at home. This is the hardest game of the three a division game between two teams fighting to reach the playoffs. Expect this game to be low scoring because both of these defenses rank in the top 10 in the NFL.

This game could go either way but I'm trending towards the Ravens because they are at home.

Baltimore has a more stable running game and quarterback with Joe Falco and Ray Rice. The Steelers have no running game and this will hurt them in a close a very competitive game.

Betting pools are fun and entertaining. Pools create an atmosphere of a group that is competing against each other.

Pools can be done in your neighborhood or even at work.

The most common type of pool is done during March Madness or the Super Bowl.

March Madness is a big college tournament with 64 teams and it starts in March and ends in April.

The Super Bowl is usually done by squares. Where at random you pick certain boxes and certain numbers at random are chosen as well. Each quarter of the game the score is going to be your winner. For example if your box is Giants 3 and  Patriots 0 and the score is 13 to 10 after the first quarter then you would win. The last numbers of the score is your numbers.

Pools are great for keeping the uninterested fan interested.

Betting basketball is tough and is very difficult to understand why or when a team should and will win. In basketball there are various betting possibilities: betting the spread, over/under, win out right, and half time bets. Knowing and getting familiar with teams and tendencies is very important to ensure your bet will be successful.

For Example the Los Angels Clippers play the Golden State Warriors. Both of these teams score but play no defense. So look out for the over/under number. Lets just say that the number  is 205. Meaning by the end of the game with the two scores combined between the Clippers and the Warriors needs to be 205. Knowing that this number is very low you would bet the over. Because of the lack of defense of these two teams.

The reason basketball is so tuff to bet on is because of garbage time. Garbage time is when the coach has taken out all his starters and put his bench players in. This can ruin a spread or even an over/under. Because of the quality of basketball you have for seen with both teams playing their starting lineups the entire game especially the last 2 minutes.

Be careful on trap games like a back/back night for a team. Meaning if a team plays one night and then the next night do not expect the team to be well rested or play at an optimum level.

Betting on sports in the regular season is different and not as challenging as in the playoffs. Most team sports have a regular season and a form of an extended season for teams who are better and have shown they are the cream of the crop.

In the regular season games have no effect or sense of urgency to win because there are so many games. For example there are 162 games in Major League Baseball. On the other hand the National Football League has only 16 games during their regular season. Each game matters in the NFL because each team plays only once a week. Each win or lose is dependent on making the playoffs.

The differences in placing bets is the teasers are more prevalent during the playoffs. For example in the Super Bowl there are bets on heads/tails, which team scores first, who scores first, will a running-back score the first point, will a field goal be the first points of the game. Horse Racing has become an almost dead sport but not for betting. Horse Racing has many different kinds of bets. The most common are Win, Place, or Show. Win means coming in first. Sunday Night Baseball Braves vs Dodgers Game 3 of the NLDS

I bet on a parlay today with the dodgers winning -140 money line and the over/under 6.5 runs going over. I bet $20.00 profitable income is $44.10 if this comes to fruition.

5:07pm: The first pitch of the game was called strike one.

5:11pm: I'm in trouble already the braves scored two runs in the first inning.   This can ruin my bet with the Dodgers winning but it helps  the over/under.

5:57pm: Boom I'm back in it 3-run homerun Carl Crawford with two outs. Clutch. Now I need one more run for the over to be a lock.

6:15pm: Dodgers give two runs away with two mental errors by the same player the pitcher Ryu game tied 4-4. On the plus I locked in the OVER. YES.

6:36pm: Dodgers take the lead 6-4 in the bottom of the third. The Dodgers put in pitch-hitter for Ryu. Thank God!!! How many more runs can they allow him to give up. Lets go Dodgers.

7:10pm: Big inning for the Dodgers six runs 10-4 only in the fourth inning this game started at 5:07pm-? Long game. Dodgers "Si se puede"  yes we can.

7:52pm: The game has gone into a stall where neither team has scored in the last two innings we have made it to the 7th inning my bet is looking solid with the Dodgers up 6 runs and the two teams are combined for 14 runs.

8:18pm: Carl Crawford has done it all with a three run shot home run and a running diving catch into the stands in the 8th inning to bring some excitement to a game that is going through the motions.

9:12pm: Just about a four hour game my bet has come to fruition. The Dodgers won 13-6. The 19 runs combined also established my with on the Over.

Betting on Football

The basics for betting on football and when I mean football I do not mean soccer. Mostly I'm talking about the NFL the National Football League. There are some common bets you can make for instance you pick one team to beat another team, you can bet the over/under, and you can bet on the spread.

The picking one team to beat another team is simple enough. For example you pick the Denver Broncos to beat the Oakland Raiders. Dah no brainer. The money you win will very small because Denver is and will always be the favorite. If you decide that this is the easiest way for to win then I suggest you parlay your bets. Parlays are stringing your bets over many bets. For example You can do a 5 team parlay meaning you pick 5 teams and they all have to win to win the bet. This is where you get the most bang for your buck. The odds are a lot lower if you  pick each teams individually. Instead of just picking one easy game that is obvious to you pick five. The more teams the higher the odds get. From personal experience I have won an 8 team parlay for $1,020. What a nice Sunday that was.

Betting the over/under is another route to go. The over/under is the amount of points you think will be accumulated over the span of the game. When you go to a sports book online or in Vegas they will have posted the over/under. So you decide if you think the number they came up with is to high or low. For example the Chicago Bears are playing the Cleveland Browns and the over/under is 60. There is no way both teams would average 30 points each so you would bet the under. In my opinion it is mostly a gut feeling of how well you know both teams that are playing and what offenses and defenses both teams have.

Betting on the spread is the standard for betting in football. The spread is the amount of points a team has to win by in order to win. Either a team lays or gives. Lays means that this team is the underdog and is  getting points even before the game has started. Gives means that this team is the favorite and is  loosing points even before the game has started. For example the Detroit Lions are favored by 2.5 points against the Atlanta Falcons. This means if you bet on the Lions they have to win by a field goal which is 3 points.

In conclusion betting on football can be lucrative and gut wrenching. The NFL has an on going slogan its what have you done for me lately.

Betting on Baseball

Betting on Baseball is not as hard as you think. When betting on baseball home field advantage does not really exist. Baseball teams are assembled to win and to make the playoffs. But as you know there is very little parody in the game. For example the Huston Astros and Miami Marlins are terrible with neither team having a winning season in 5 years. Safe bets in baseball are going against these two teams. Even though they will not lose every game.

If you bet make sure you pick the team with its ace starting. An ace is the best pitcher on the team. For example Clayton Kershaw for the Los Angles Dodgers is an Ace. The reason for paying so much attention to pitchers when betting baseball is because they control the game. They are the most responsible for a team to win or lose.

My advise is to make a futures bet for baseball. Pick a team to win the World Series.  The odds are very good on this bet. If you picked the Dodgers at the begging the year to win the World Series the odds were 30/1. This means every $1 you bet you win $30.

In conclusion baseball is a slow game and you should take you time betting on the right team at the right time.

     Indian Casinos especially in Southern California have become a big attraction for gamblers and people seeking a mini vacation from their boring and dull lives. Indian Casino's have come along way from just being big blow up tents with a couple of Blackjack tables and few slots. For instance Pechanga in Temecula and Morongo in Cabazon have become huge and very popular. Both of these casinos have 70 to 100 table games each and about 8,000 slot machines.

      Understanding the basic game of Texas Hold'em is easy. You get two cards which are face down; you bet. Then there is a flop of three community cards that everyone uses; you bet. Then the turn comes which is the forth up card on the board that everyone uses; you bet. The final card the river the fifth up card on the board; you bet. With the two cards in your hand and the five that are on the board you make the best hand.
     
     This is the easy part knowing what is happening and why it is happening but the strategy and skill is what it all comes down to. Basic strategy is to play pairs and hope you hit three of a kind. This is called ABC Poker where you play what you are dealt and you have no what I like to say "creativity." Creativity is when you play suited connectors like 6 &7 of clubs trying to make a flush or straight. More creativity is basically bluffing in position. Bluffing is pretending you have a hand to scare other players away. Bluffing in position is when everybody checks to you and you bet just because nobody else has. In Texas Hold'em it is very easy to bluff. You just have to show strength by betting or portraying a story that adds up at the end. This is a very effective tool in this game.

    This game has become the most popular form of poker because it is shown on TV and played in all Poker rooms in casinos. People watching this game on TV really feel like they have a grasp on the game. But in truth they have no idea for two reasons. One reason is on TV they only show hands that are interesting or when there is a lot of action between two people like an all in. The second reason is when watching on TV you can see the cards of players at the table. People think they can play because they know how to read people but its easy when you know what they have.

   In conclusion, Texas Hold'em takes a minute to learn and a life time to Master.

There is a reason why you see all these huge Casino's its because of all the suckers that play the games that favor the house, "AKA the Casino." When gambling in a casino you must understand that you are not guaranteed to win in all likely hood you will be lucky to break even.  Unless you have an ornate ability to stop when your head but know one does.

Games for the Suckers  Roulette this is fun game you pick a number or a color you get 35/1 on a number and 1/1 on a color. There are 37 numbers including zero that means even if you put a dollar on all the numbers including zero you would lose two dollars ever spin. The only way you can win is to put money on a couple of numbers and hopefully it comes out.  What a Sucker game.

Black Jack is another sucker game. Even though there are distinct rules about how to play the game there is no guarantee that these rules will always pan out. Bet on the Future

Depending on how much you follow sports or sports betting I suggest you place a bet that will last a whole entire season. This bet is called a future bet. You can pick any team or athlete from any sport and bet that they will win during a duration of a season. I find this to be fun and keeps me entertained for a whole season instead of one game.

Picking a team or an athlete to win something is very difficult. What you are doing is predicting the future and becoming a mind reader. What I do is pick a team that has not won in a while. Even though you think they should have won already in previous years.

One way to go about this is you go to sport book in Vegas or online and start looking for odds on the athlete or team you want to win. When the Lakers were good and Tiger never lost the odds were even money or 2-1 at best. Picking these people or teams is okay its safe because they are the favorite. But in my opinion I don't like this bet. You want to win big money you have to take an up incomer or a team that is on the rise. I call these athletes or teams sleepers. Sleepers are teams that people sort of know but don't think they can go all the way and win. The sleepers is the route to go because they usually get the best odds and you feel that you knew something that know one else knew.

You know going to casino's have  just become a big hassle. Especially where I live in Yorba Linda the closest casino to me is  the Gardens in Hawaiian Gardens. You have room and dealers. Online Poker there is no waiting there are so many tournaments and cash games going. Even if  you just wanted to play for fun and not money that's possible. But not  at a casino. On Online Poker you can play for fun to improve your skills or there lack of.  You even enter into tournaments  for free and win entrees in other tournaments that are not.

All in all the experience of Online Poker to a Casino with poker you can't compare. The casino poker is far. Online is in the comfort of your house. The casino poker you have to talk to annoying people bitch about how he or she lost a hand. Online Poker you can just concentrate and have fun with no one bothering you.

Fantasy Football

Starting today the NFL season starts tonight September 5th with the Bronco's and Ravens playing in a rematch of the AFC championship game from last season. But all this means is fantasy ideas, drafts, and pools have already started.  Football used to be just picking the spread or the over/under on a game.  This is too boring for the average fan who wants to watch the game and make a little money to keep things interesting. Fantasy Football is not for your average fan who roots for one team and know one else.

When betting or playing Fantasy Football you need to leave your emotions aside for that  specific team you root for. You need to go after the best players not the best teams.
Fantasy Football pools are usually set up by a commissioner. The commissioner  asks people to join the league. Once the commissioner sets up the league and everybody has joined  there is a draft.  Which is the most important day in you're Fantasy Football  season. This is where you select your team. Drafting is essential because this determines what position players are on your team. For practice there are mock drafts which are used for practicing drafting in your league. I suggest you do these mock drafts so you can develop a strategy and figure out the rounds and rankings of players based on their position.  

Basic strategy is to choose running backs in the first round because they usually acquire the most points and possession of the ball besides the quarterbacks. The reason you do not pick a quarterback in the first round or even the second is because on your team roster you can have up too three running backs and only one quarterback. All in all you are trying to create an all-star team. There are shows dedicated to Fantasy Football including Fantasy Football on ESPN as well as NFL Network. Understanding that these shows can help you week to week on making decisions and knowing why or what you need to do for that particular week. There are 16 weeks in Fantasy Football just like the regular season. It least one of these weeks there is going to be a bye week for one of your players this is where it gets tricky you'll need to go to your free-agent pool which is the people that did not get drafted on draft day or you can make a trade for player who is not in the free-agent pool but they are on somebody else's team. Danger do not stress or change your team weekly just because one of your players is not playing that particular because when you go to the free-agent pool to get someone you then will have to drop someone and it turns into a domino effect every week trying to fix a little problem instead of letting it go and making your team not suffer.
